Withers, Booen
Elaine Jordan Withers of Brookhaven announces the engagement of her daughter, Leigh Elaine, to Dennis Burton Booen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dean B. Booen of Demopolis, Ala. Ms. Withers is also the daughter of the late Johnny N. Withers.
The wedding will be held Saturday, April 28, 2001, at 2 p.m. at Livingston United Methodist Church.
Ms. Withers is the granddaughter of Irene Blackwell Jordan and the late James Troy Jordan, and the late Mr. and Mrs. John Henry Withers.
The bride-elect is a graduate of Wingfield High School in Jackson and received a social science comprehensive degree from the University of West Alabama. While attending UWA, she was a member of Phi Mu sorority and Phi Kappa Phi honor fraternity.
Ms. Withers is employed by The Woman's Clinic of Jackson.
Mr. Booen is the grandson of Velma Phillips and the late Roy M. Phillips; Chloe Booen and the late Burton R. Booen.
The bridegroom-elect is a graduate of Goose Creek High School in Goose Creek, S.C., and received his degree in business from the University of West Alabama. While attending UWA, he was a member of Delta Chi fraternity.
Mr. Booen is employed by State Farm Insurance in Meridian.
A reception will be held at Livingston Community Center following the ceremony.
Mitchell, Hilton
Mr. and Mrs. Willie Jim Mitchell of DeKalb announce the engagement of their daughter, Barbara Carol of Jackson, to William Wesley Hilton of Jackson, son of Mr. and Mrs. William E. Hilton of Mendenhall.
The wedding will be held Saturday, April 21, 2001, at 2 p.m. at Wells Methodist Church in Jackson.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. J. Chandler Land and the late Mr. Land; Mrs. R. Clark Mitchell and the late Mr. Mitchell, all of DeKalb.
Miss Mitchell is a graduate of Kemper Academy, attended Mississippi State University and received a bachelor's degree from Belhaven College. She received a master of counseling psychology degree from Mississippi College.
Miss Mitchell is employed by Mississippi State Hospital as a psychologist.
The bridegroom-elect is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. W.D. Hilton and the late Mr. and Mrs. Leo Shows, all of Mendenhall.
Mr. Hilton is a graduate of Simpson Academy and the University of Southern Mississippi. He is employed in the adolescence children department at Mississippi State Hospital.
Family and friends are invited to attend. No local invitations will be sent.
Bailey, Allison
Vicki and Louis Bailey of Meridian announce the engagement of their daughter, Jill, to Steve Allison, son of Carol and Tommy Allison of Snellville, Ga.
The wedding will be held Saturday, April 28, 2001, at 3 p.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church.
Miss Bailey is the granddaughter of Doris Stanford of Livingston, Ala., the late W.L. Walker and the late Mr. and Mrs. Louis Joseph Bailey, all of Meridian.
The bride-elect is a graduate of Meridian High School and the University of Southern Mississippi.
While attending USM, she was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority and Southern Exposure.
Miss Bailey is employed by Southeast Technical Group in Atlanta.
Mr. Allison is the grandson of Vivian Smith of Snellville and Katherine Allison of Hueytown, Ala.
The bridegroom-elect is a graduate of American Senior High School in Miami and Broward Community College. He is employed by the CMD Group in Atlanta.
A reception will be held at Meridian Museum of Art following the ceremony.
Wilkerson, Johnson
Jana Wilkerson and Jon David Johnson, both of Jackson, will be united in marriage at 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 5, 2001, at First Baptist Church in Carthage.
The bride-elect is the daughter of Nancy Wilkerson of Carthage and the late James Wilkerson.
Miss Wilkerson is a graduate of Leake Academy, East Central Community College and the University of Mississippi Medical Center.
She is employed as an occupational therapist at Baptist Medical Center.
The bridegroom-elect is the son of Wanda and Emry Kennedy of Meridian.
Mr. Johnson is a graduate of Meridian High School, Meridian Community College and Mississippi State University.
He is employed as a sales representative for VCM Sales Inc.
