LEAKESVILLE Greene County evened its South State 3A championship series with West Lauderdale Saturday as the Wildcats claimed a 2-1 victory.
The two teams meet again Monday at West Lauderdale for the third and deciding game. The contest starts at 6 p.m.
Both teams scored in the first inning. The Wildcats scored the winning run in the third inning .
Luke Mills was the winning pitcher while Ryan Clay took the loss.
Van Wilson and Trent Posey each hit doubles for West, while Richie McAllister had two singles. Michael James banged out a homer for Greene County.
West won the first game of the series Thursday night by the score of 6-5.
