Bowling tourney concludes with award of medals

State Games of Mississippi bowling action continued Sunday at Dixie Bowl Lanes.
Bernard Hoy, bowling commissioner again this year, said "I appreciate all the people who bowled, and we had a fair turnout. We had fun, and that is what it is all about."
In Division 5 WIBC, Vicki Boykins took home the gold, with a 1216; while Mary Copeland got the silver medal with a 1073.
Division 4 saw the gold go to Denise Rutledge with a 1176, the silver to Sharon McDonald with a 1116, and Nonie Embrey getting the bronze, with a 1093.
Belinda Adkins bowled a 991, and got the gold in Division 3. Lisa Willis took silver with a 966, and the bronze went to Becky Gathams with a 951.
Jean Mason, was the lone bowler in Division 2, and took the gold medal, with a 843.
In the Men's ABC competition, Thomas Clay captured the gold in Division 5 with a 1386. Taking silver with a 1377 was Jim Broderick, Jr. M. A. Copeland got the bronze, with a 1348.
Division 4 gold was taken by Robby Rolinski, who bowled a 1254. The silver medal went to Jason Pierce with a 1247, and the bronze to John Lott with a 1183.
Randy Alexander took gold with a 1108 in Division 3, while the silver went to Bob Jordan, who rolled a 1003. Jeff Bolduc took the bronze with a 987.
Division 5 boys YABA saw Jonathan Berg roll a 745, and capture the gold. Josh Coleman took the silver with a 660.
Jamie Rogers took the gold with a score of 608 in Division 4, and Steven Carson won the silver with a 556.
Adam Carson got the gold in Division 3 with a 719, and Ryan Fike the silver with a 583.
Billy Allen rolled a 659 and won the Division 2 gold medal. David Davis won the silver with 544, and Robert Davis, Jr. rolled a 460 for the bronze.
Division 1 had Drew Wilson capturing the gold with a 399, and Joshua Schultz the silver with a 389.
In Girls YABA, Randi Allen bowled a 475 to take the gold in Division 2, and Shalene Fike the silver, with a 458.
Emily Davis took home the gold, in Division 1.
Hoy told everyone, "Thanks and we would do it again, in 2002."
