Services for Rita Love Sims were to be held today at 10 a.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jason Bird officiating. Burial was to be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Sims, 70, of Meridian, died Monday, June 25, 2001, in her home.
Survivors include her husband, Otis A. Sims of Meridian; two sons, Randy Ethridge and his wife, Tommie, of Meridian and Greg Ethridge and his wife, Freida, of Bailey; a daughter, Sherry E. Wolfe of Meridian; grandchildren, Chris Ethridge and his wife, Christi, Wade Ethridge, Jennifer Ethridge, Adam Ethridge, Cassie Lee and her husband, Erny, Kelli, Kevin and Nathan Wolfe and Laura Ethridge; and a brother, Billy Ray Love of Meridian.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Winnie Weaver and a sister, Eleanor Fritz.
The family requests memorials be made to Fifteenth Avenue Baptist Church Building Fund.
Pallbearers were to be her grandsons and Benny Wolfe.
LORENA BOUNDS ANDERSON

Graveside services for Lorena Bounds Anderson will be held today at 1 p.m. at West Kemper Baptist Church Cemetery. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Anderson, 90, of Lawton, Okla., formerly of Meridian, died Saturday, June 23, 2001, in Lawton. She was born in Kemper County on Dec. 10, 1910, to John Rufus and Sadie Clark Bounds. She attended school in Moscow and graduated from high school in Meridian. She also attended Mississippi State College for Women. She married Hervey Clifton Anderson in 1930. They made their home in Meridian. Mr. Anderson died in 1965.
She was employed at Highland Baptist Church pre-kindergarten. After her husband's death, she returned to college and completed her bachelor's degree at the University of Southern Mississippi in 1969. She then taught primary grades in the Meridian Public School System until her retirement.
Mrs. Anderson was a longtime member of Highland Baptist Church in Meridian where she was a Bible teacher and an active member of Women's Missionary Union. In recent years she lived near her daughter, Mrs. Gary Cook, in Lawton. During these years she was a member of First Baptist Church of Lawton.
Survivors include a son, Hulon B. Anderson and his wife, Reba, of Vallejo, Calif.; a daughter, Linda Cook and her husband, Gary, of Lawton; a sister, Mara Love of Stephenville, Texas; four grandchildren, Brenda Lofus and her husband, Louie, Kenneth Anderson and his wife, Colleen, all of Vallejo, Greg Cook and his wife, Phoebe, of Flower Mound, Texas, and Matthew Cook and his wife, Allyson, of Rosebud, Texas; and four great-granddaughters, Claire, Lindsay, Madison and Ashley and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hervey Clifton Anderson; two infant children, Janelle and Glenn Anderson; two brothers, Otis Bounds of Bailey and Al Bounds of DeKalb; two sisters, Sybil Key of Meridian and Earline Davis of Moscow.
The family requests memorials be made to Highland Baptist Church Library Fund in Meridian.
LOIS JOHNSON COUEY
YORK, Ala. Graveside services for Lois Johnson Couey will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at Semmes First Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Charles Couey officiating. Bumpers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Couey, 96, of Livingston, died Monday, June 25, 2001, in her home.
Survivors include two sons, Freddie Eugene Couey of Houston, Texas, and Edsel Couey of Sanford, Fla.; two daughters, Caleen Looney of Livingston and Carolyn Fredrickson of Memphis; two sisters, Zinvaline Wilkerson of Atlanta and Christine Phares of Mobile; 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
The family requests memorials be made to the Diabetes Foundation.
