OLLIE MAE SEAPHUS PICKENS

DEKALB Services for Ollie Mae Seaphus "Ms. Casablanca" Pickens will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Collinsville with the Rev. Johnny Robinson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with E.E. McDonald Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Pickens, 54, formerly of Collinsville, died Thursday, June 21, 2001, in her home.
She was born to the late Ollie Hatchett and Mary Crafton on Dec. 17, 1946, in Chicago. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Bethlehem Star Missionary Baptist Church in Chicago. She moved to Mississippi and later joined Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church where she served as a dutiful and faithful member.
Mrs. Pickens was a very kind, generous and thoughtful person. She was the somebody, that helped anybody do everything. She was outspoken and did not mind telling you how she felt about any situation. If you didn't want to hear the truth, then it was best to not ask Ollie Pickens.
Survivors include her husband, Jerald Pickens; her mother and stepfather, Joseph and Mary Crafton; four children, Cherie Seaphus, Gregory Seaphus and his wife, Teresa, Chernise Seaphus and Sher'Ron Seaphus, all of Meridian; four sisters, Shirley Walton and her husband, Keith, of Clarksdale, Janice Turnage and her husband, Ray, of Meridian, Joann Terrell and her husband, Tommy, and Linda Crafton of Collinsville; five brothers, Ray and Alfonso Hatchett of California, Gary, Tyrone and Troy Hatchett of Chicago; two stepbrothers, Tyrone Crafton of Collinsville and Kenneth Crafton of Cape Giradeau, Mo.; 12 grandchildren and several other relatives and friends.
Also mourning her passing are special friends, Mack Stribling, George Howard, Gregory Seaphus and a dear girlfriend, Fannie Jenkins.
She was preceded in death by a stepsister, Hildred Crafton and a brother, Melvin Hatchett.
Visitation will be Friday from 7 p.m.-8 p.m. at E.E. McDonald Chapel in Meridian.

EUPORA Services for Mae Casey "Mini" Wynne will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at Oliver Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Meridian at 3 p.m. on Friday. James F. Webb Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
Mrs. Wynne, 81, of Eupora, died Sunday, June 24, 2001, at Beverly Health Care Center. She was a licensed practical nurse employed 28 years at Matty Hersee Hospital.
Survivors include two sons, E.C. Wynne of Branford, Fla. and Billy Wynne of Mathiston; a sister, Bonnie Pigg of Carthage; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J.T. Wynne.
Visitation will be today from 6 p.m.-9 p.m. at Oliver Funeral Home.

NEWTON Graveside services for Paul M. Henry will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Newton County Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Billy Owens officiating. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Henry, 78, of Bakersville, Calif., died Thursday, June 21, 2001, in Bakersville.

QUITMAN Services for Dorothy Olivia May will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Griffin officiating. Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery.
Mrs. May, 83, of Quitman, died Tuesday, June 26, 2001, at Lakeside Living Center.
Survivors include a son, Gerald Price Sr. of Beat Four; two daughters, Charlene Price of Enterprise and Frances Harris of Denison, Texas; a sister, Betty Brendgard of Las Vegas; seven grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be Friday beginning at 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
