MSU football tickets continue to sellout
STARKVILLE The Mississippi State athletic ticket office announced that it has sold in excess of 35,000 football season tickets for the 2001 Bulldog campaign, and that all season tickets other than club-level seats are now sold out.
The only remaining full-schedule season tickets available to MSU fans are approximately 500 of the new club-level seats. Those seats can be purchased for $1,000 per seat plus the cost of the ticket. The Maroon Pack partial-season ticket is also now sold out.
The ticket office also announced that no individual game tickets to MSU's home game with LSU remain, joining the annual season-ending Mississippi contest as individual game sellouts. Individual game tickets exist for the other five Bulldog home games.
MSU prep football camp begins Friday
The Mississippi State two-day high school football camp begins Friday on the Starkville campus.
More than 1,200 high school student athletes from eight states are expected for the weekend,
The combination camp is open to both high school teams and individuals interested in improving their games. The two-day clinic is comprised of three seperate divisions – a seven-on-seven passing camp, fundamentals for offensive and defensive linemen, and a kicking camp.
Interested individuals or teams should pre-register before Friday by contacting Jane Ballard in the MSU football office (662-325-2534).
Northwood hosting Jr. Club Championship
Northwood Country Club opened the first round of the Junior Club Championship Tuesday.
In the 10-11 age division, Chad Bounds leads the way, followed by Hamp Glover, Will Fuches, Brent Stephenson and Todd Murphy.
Clay Bounds is on top of the 12-13 age group, followed by Nicholas Brown, John Everett and Jarred Moulds.
The 14-15 age division is paced by Reid Kennedy, followed by Brad Bailey.
The second round tees off today.
Former MCC standout inks with MVSU
Temetrius Thomas, a two-time All-Division Meridian Community College standout, is one of three juco baseball players to sign a national letter with Mississippi Valley State University.
Thomas, a 6-2, 200-pound right-handed infielder, prepped at Starkville High School prior to his two years at MCC.
The Delta Devils also signed Timothy Klick, a a right-handed pitcher from Northeast Mississippi Community College, chosen to the juco All-State and All-Region teams. Robert Reynolds, a 6-0, 180-pound outfielder from Sacramento City Community College. Reynolds is the son of former Major Leaguer R.J. Reynolds.
