Daly won't play in Coast tourney

The recent terrorist attacks have led officials at Treasure Bay Casino to postpone the first Cal Priest Memorial Invitational golf tournament, originally set for Oct. 29 at Shell Landing Golf Course.
John Daly was to have been the featured speaker and performer.
Daly will participate when a make-up date is set, Hanson said.
Daly won the BMW International on Sept. 2, his first win since the 1995 British Open at St. Andrews.
He is the Dancing Rabbit Golf Club PGA Tour representative and frequently plays the Philadelphia club's courses.
American Cancer Society tourney Saturday: The Meridian Oncology Associates will host a benefit golf tournament Saturday at Lakeview Golf Course.

St. Jude Benefit: Roadway Express of Meridian is sponsoring a golf tournament to benefit St. Jude Children's Hospital on Oct. 6 at Lakeview Golf Course.
Entry fee for the four-man scramble is $50 per person. There will be a shotgun start at 8 a.m.

Just around the corner: The annual Hog Tournament at Decatur Country Club is slated for this weekend.

The sixth-annual NAMI Mississippi tournament is slated for Oct. 11 at Ponta Creek Golf Course at NAS Meridian. Entry fee for the four-man scramble is $50 per person. For more information, call 601-679-2526 or 601-679-2129. Proceeds benefit NAMI Mississippi.
The second-annual Clarke County Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament will be held on Oct. 20 at Quitman Country Club. The four-person scramble has tee times at 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. Registrations will be held at 7:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Registrations will be limited to the first 36 paid teams.
