Lady Trojans pound West Jones

Northeast Lauderdale's Lady Trojans held strong to their Division 5-4A lead with a 12-2 win over West Jones Thursday night.
The Lady Trojans move to 21-3 overall and 9-0 in the division.
The game started slow with West Jones's Sonya Newcomb knocking in two runs in the second inning while Northeast was temporarily shut out.
The Lady Trojans came alive in the fourth inning starting with two RBI's sent home from a Jenniffer Bristow hit.
April Harper (2-for-3, double) followed by sending two more home. The inning continued with Capri Norris and Blair Rawson (2-for-3, double) each sending in one more.
Rawson was the winning pitcher for the Lady Trojans.
Northeast dealt the final blow in the sixth inning beginning with an RBI sent home by an Amber Gray (2-for-3 and a triple).
The inning continued with one more run sent in by Norris, one more from Rawson, and a RBI sent home off a Jayme Gardner double. Lauren Webb capped the rally with two RBIs.
Other multiple hitters for the Lady Trojans included G.A. Watkins (2-for-3, double), Raleigh Odom (2-for-3), Webb (2-for-4) and Bristow (2-for-3).

The Clarkdale Lady Bulldogs secured a spot in the playoffs with a 16-2 division win at Taylorsville Thursday night.
The Lady Bulldogs, led by pitcher Emily Howard (3-4), came out early scoring five runs in the first inning. They followed it up with one in the second, a whopping seven in the fourth, and three in the fifth.
Multiple hitters for the Lady Bulldogs included JorD'an Orr (3-for-4, triple), Kaylea Thrash (2-for-4), Ashley Satcher (4-for-4, triple), Megan Potate (3-for-4, triple), Brandi Limerick (2-for-3), Sabrina Woodall (2-for-3), and Bethany Spidle (triple). Clarkdale stands at 13-8 overall and 6-0 in division play.
Enterprise 12
Bay Springs 3
Enterprise came away with a 12-3 division win over Bay Springs Thursday night.
Enterprise ups their overall record to 7-7 and their division record to 4-2. If they win one of their last two games they will clinch a playoff berth.
Multiple hitters for Enterprise were Brittany Speed (3-for-4), Amanda Parker (3-for-4), Charlie (2-for-4), Ashton Shirley (2-for-4), and Morgan Robinson (2-for-4).

Noxapater 4
Nanih Wayia pummeled Noxupater 22-4 in Thursday night prep softball action.
Nanih Wayia pushed up their overall record to 12-4 and their division record to 6-1.
Nanih Wayia will host Edinburg next week.
