Mrs. John Lack Carney of Meridian announces the engagement of her daughter, Jessica Dawn, to Dr. Adrian Russell Smith, son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Russell Smith of Baton Rouge, La. Miss Carney is also the daughter of the late John Lack Carney.
The wedding will be held Saturday, Oct. 20, 2001, at 7 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Jackson.
Miss Carney is the granddaughter of Mrs. Jesse David Covington and the late Mr. Covington and the late Mr. and Mrs. A.P. Carney Jr.
The bride-elect attended the University of Mississippi and is a graduate of the University of Mississippi School of Nursing in Jackson. She is employed by the University Medical Center.
Dr. Smith is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Russell Smith of Carriere and the late Mr. and Mrs. Claude Francis Waggenspack of Burnside, La.
The bridegroom-elect is a graduate of University High School in Baton Rouge. He attended Millsaps College in Jackson and Louisiana State University Medical Center in Shreveport, La.
He is employed by the University Medical Center.
A reception will be held at the Country Club of Jackson following the ceremony.
