Black Eagle martial artist earns 5th degree black belt

The 31/2 hour test was conducted by the World Han Mu Do Association Headquarters in Baton Rouge, La., under the direction of Grandmaster He-Young Kimm. The test included techniques such as: Iron Palm, Open Hand Ki striking, joint locking and throws.
Weapon techniques were also required. Weapons included on the test were the cane, fan and the sword. For the rank of Master, Carr was also required to write a five page essay on "Lifestyle Balance." He has trained in the martial arts for more than 25 years and is the owner and chief instructor of Black Eagle Martial Arts on Highway 19 South.
