Nothing, including cold weather and a wet field, could stop Northeast Lauderdale's offense as it scored a dozen goals and beat visiting Southeast Lauderdale 12-1 in boys soccer action on Tuesday night.
The Trojans got a hat trick from Jorge Corrals and two goals each from Chad Brunson and David Williams in the win.
Southeast got a couple of scoring chances early in the game as Tyler Pope had a good shot go high and wide and Larry Fairchild's header in the box was saved by Northeast keeper Griffin Parker.
Northeast scored first as Cody Abrams fed Williams with a pass down the right side. Williams' shot was batted away but Corrals was there to put the loose ball in and get his first goal of the game.
Just four minutes later Ryan Sweet fed Williams with a nice pass, who beat the keeper with a high shot to make the score 2-0.
Matt Moore scored a goal with about seven minutes left when the ball got away from the keeper and he was able to put it in. Corrals finished out the first-half scoring as he scored on a pass from Brunson with just over three minutes left in the half to make the halftime score 4-0.
The Northeast offense exploded in the second half as it got eight goals in the final 40 minutes of play.
The Trojans scored early in the second half when Paul Tate put in a loose ball to make the score 5-0. Tate fed Brunson with a nice pass just minutes later and Brunson finished the opportunity by beating the keeper for his first goal of the game.
Brunson scored his second goal of the game with about 28:30 left in the game when he put in a loose ball to make the score 7-0.
Cody Abrams added a goal just over a minute later to put the Trojans up by eight.
Southeast got one of its best opportunities in the game when it got a penalty kick with about 21 minutes left but the shot went wide right to keep the score 8-0.
Southeast picked up its lone goal a few minutes later a shot by Pope that beat the charging keeper and went into the right corner of the goal.
Northeast came back when Sweet scored a nice goal with just under 15 minutes to play. With his back to the goal, Sweet chipped the ball over his head and over the keeper for the goal.
Corrals added his third goal of the game with ten minutes to play in the game and made the score 10-1.
Williams scored his second goal of the game when he got a pass from Brunson and beat the keeper with a blast. Daniel Huntley added a late goal to finish out the scoring at 12-1.
