Rockette among five Lions to sign with 4-year schools

SCOOBA Five East Mississippi Community College players signed scholarships to play for four-year schools last week. Four others are already enrolled at other schools.
J.C. Grid-Wire Scholar Athlete All-American Gene Perry from Starkville inked with the University of Arkansas. Al Cummings signed with the University of Alabama-Birmingham, Joe Knox signed with Florida A&M, Terion Reynolds inked with Charleston Southern, and Rocky Rockette signed with Southwest Missouri State.
David Yeates enrolled at Delta State in January, while Roderick Gandy is at Central Arkansas. Michael Johnson will play for Jackson State and Marques Sykes is at the University of West Alabama.
Rockette, a 6-foot-2, 280-pound defensive lineman, played his high school football at West Lauderdale High School.
