KANSAS CITY, Mo. The smallest man in the game made the biggest shot. Jason Harrison, Ole Miss' 5-foot-5 point guard, hit a 3-pointer with 46 seconds left as the shot clock ran down, boosting the Rebels past Notre Dame 59-56 on Sunday. Ole Miss advanced to the NCAA regional semifinals for the first time in schol history. The beginning of the division schedule usually causes a team to perform at its best. In their 5-5A opener against Jackson Murrah Tuesday evening, the Meridian High Wildcats played at just about the highest level possible for anyone, pounding out 16 hits and five home runs in thumping the Mustangs 18-0 at John Moss Field.
Northeast Lauderdale has developed nasty habit of allowing opponents to explode for several runs in one inning. It happened again Tuesday night against Laurel. The Tornadoes sent 11 players to the plate in a whirlwind fifth inning, transforming thre hits, three walks and two NEL errors into six runs. The Tornadoes went on to claim a 13-4 victory over the homestanding Trojans at Glynn Frazier Field.

Dustin Hamrick has already had a memorable baseball season and there is still nearly six weeks left.
Back in late February, Hamrick belted his first career home run in a game against the Meridian Wildcats.
Hamrick really likes his current team. They are currently 12-4 on the season after winning two games in the Quitman Tournament.
