Lucy Taylor Gaston and George Joshua Blair, both of Jackson, were married Saturday, April 27, 2002, at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Meridian, with the Revs. Merrill Wade and Edward O'Connor officiating.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Warner Hale Gaston of Meridian, and Mr. and Mrs. George Leroy Blair of Laurel.
Nuptial music was provided by David Benson, organist; Raul Munguie, violinist; Sue Shoffiett, flutist; and Kris Carmichael, bagpipes.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a gown of ivory satin. Bouquets of embroidered flowers with sequins, freshwater pearls and crystals were appliqued over the strapless bodice and A-line skirt. her veil was tiers of illusion dotted with tiny rhinestones.
She carried her grandmother's linen handkerchief and a bouquet of pink roses.
Amanda Gaston Cross of Meridian attended her sister as matron of honor. Other attendants were Mary Margaret Clayton Adams of Augusta, Ga., Carrie Boswell Bakelaar of Brandon, Brooks Burnette Elfert of Jackson, Elizabeth Harris Fisher of Nashville, Tenn., Miriam Lewis Hobbs of Birmingham, Ala., Martha Frances Harris Maxey of Jackson, Mary Tana Person of Jackson, Katherine Graham Pigford of Meridian and Kelly Turner Spencer of Shreveport, La.
Flower girls were Anna Blair Lindstrom and Emily Alexandra Lindstrom of Laurel. Program attendants were Dixie Pigford, Katie Pigford and Lacie Wilkerson.
The father of the bridegroom served as best man. Groomsmen were Robert Carrington Dews, Brandon Martin Hinton and Jon Stephen Kennedy, all of Jackson, Rhes Vernon Low Jr. of Los Angeles, Richard Joel Smith Jr. of Gulfport, Bradley Barron Vance of Jackson, Michael Lewis Walker of Gulfport, Christopher Caldwell Watkins of Hattiesburg and Richard Lewis Yoder Jr. of Oxford.
Ushers were Brian Neville Batson and James Jay Brown, both of Jackson, Peter Michael Harper of New York, David Zachary Scruggs of Jackson and Benjamin Scott Vance of Long Beach.
Lectors were Lindsey Gallion Swift of Meridian and Robert Johnson Marsalis of Oxford. Tommie Gaddie served as crucifer.
A reception was held at Northwood Country Club following the ceremony.
After a honeymoon to Negril, Jamaica, the couple will reside in Jackson.
