Veteran anglers Don Feltman and Ken Garrett battled some of the roughest conditions Mother Nature and Okatibbee Reservoir could dish out last Saturday on their way to an impressive win. This duo battled 35 miles per hour winds and below normal temperatures for the championship.
Feltman and Garrett caught a limit of bass that weighed 14.59 pounds, which took the first place prize of $2,000.00. In addition to the top prize, Garrett also landed the lunker of the tourney a 9.27 pound bass that won the lunker pot. Garrett caught the lunker on a Jig-n-Pig during the midday hours in shallow water. In fact, they caught all of their fish using spinnerbaits and jigs in shallow water.
Second place and $1,000.00 went to the team of Mark Burleson and Mike Newell with a nice limit of bass that weighed 10.74 pounds. Third place and $550.00 went to the team of Joey Knight and Anthony Doyle who boated 10.33 pounds. Fourth place was claimed by Corey Ratcliff and Larry Beleck with 9.86 pounds. Fifth place was awarded to Steven McMullen and Barney Partridge with 9.01 pounds.
