First Apostolic hosts two-night restoration crusade

Power Hour, an hour designated to bring the Christian community together for inspiration and encouragement, will be observed Thursdays at First Baptist Church.
The hour will include lunch, fellowship, prayer, inspirational music and testimony. Attendance is open to all races, denominations and genders; no reservations needed.
Cost of a deluxe meal is $6.50 per person. Serving begins at 11:45 a.m. and continues to 12:15 p.m. The program begins at 12:15 p.m. and ends at 12:45 p.m.

SIMPSON COUNTY A Triple Header Gospel Spectacular and 9-11-01 Tribute is set for Sept. 7 at 6 p.m. at Kennedy Springs Baptist Church.
The observance will feature veteran and military recognitions, 9-11 remembrances and an appearance by Miss Hattiesburg 2001. Concerts featuring The Bibletones Quartet, Eventide and The Next Generation also will be presented.
Admission is free; a love offering will be taken. The first 200 attending will receive a free American flag. The church is on Highway 540, eight miles northeast of Magee. For more information, call (601) 847-5339.
Precept Bible Study Classes with Kay Arthur Ministries begin at 9 a.m. at Poplar Springs Drive Baptist Church.
The sessions will continue through Nov. 20, ending with the last part of Revelation. After the Thanksgiving break, the sessions will start again Dec. 4 with I Corinthians and continue to Dec. 11. After the Christmas break, sessions will start Jan. 8.

QUITMAN The Quitman Certificate Center, an adjunct to the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary will offer courses in church leadership this fall: Introduction to Preaching (Homiletics) and Old Testament Bible Course Book of Joshua.
Classes will meet Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. in the Clarke County Baptist Center in Quitman. Credit earned can be applied toward an associate or bachelor's degree granted by the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.

SUNDAY
DECATUR Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church's annual revival will begin during 11:15 a.m. worship service. The revival is scheduled through Friday.
The Rev. James Steele of St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church will be guest speaker for the 12:30 evening service on Sunday. Visiting evangelist for the week will be the Rev. Shawn Croft of Morning Star and Bartholeum Missionary Baptist Church of Newton. Services begin each night at 7:30 p.m.
STONEWALL Stonewall Church of God's annual fall revival begins and continues through Wednesday.
The revival will begin at noon; dinner will be served afterward. Evening services will be Monday through Wednesday at 7:30 and will feature the following speakers: the Rev. Johnny Ray Hopson of Oak Grove Church of God, Meridian, Monday; the Rev. Ray Howard of Quitman, Tuesday; and the Rev. William Brown of Eighth Avenue Church of God, Meridian, Wednesday.
WHYNOT New Salem Baptist Church's annual Men's Day Program will be at 1 p.m. Guest speakers will be Deacons J.L. Jones and Frank Brewster Jr. of Mt. Horem Baptist Church.
DEKALB Union Baptist Church Kemper Springs' annual Usher Day will be observed at 3 p.m. The Rev. James W. Johnson of First Corinthian Church of Los Angeles, Calif., will be guest speaker.
HALSELL, Ala. The Seven Seals Program will be at John the Baptist Church at 6 p.m.
COLUMBUS Renowned gospel vocalist Vickie Winans will be in concert at 6 p.m. at Trotter Convention Center. The program also will feature gospel comedian Bone of Los Angeles, Calif.

MONDAY
Macedonia Primitive Baptist Church's annual fall revival begins and continues through Friday. The Rev. Johnny McDonald of St. Paul Primitive Baptist Church will be guest minister. Services will begin at 7:30 each evening.

THURSDAY
First Apostolic Church's Single's Ministry will host a two-night Crusade for Restoration. "Bloom Where You Are Planted" (Philippians 4: 11-13) is the theme. The Rev. Chanda London of Calvary Pentecostal Church of Youngstown, Ohio, will be guest evangelist. Services will begin at 7:30 each evening.
The church is at 4715 Fifth St.
