Southeast principal retires

Longtime educator Jacqueline L. Stephens recently retired as principal of Southeast Attendance Center. A reception was held May 14 in her honor.
Stephens, a Meridian native, was the school's principal from 2001-2003. She served as assistant principal at Southeast High School from 1992-2000 and a social studies teacher at Northeast High School from 1972-1992.
Stephens earned her bachelor's degree from Jackson State University in 1972, a master's in history from Mississippi State University in 1984 and an administrative certification from MSU in 1987.
She is the mother of three: the Rev. David Franklin Stephens, Theo Sinclair Stephens and Vanessa Lynn Stephens. She attends St. Patrick Catholic Church.
Stephens is the daughter of Frances Anderson of Meridian, and the granddaughter of the late Willie and Mittie McCullam.
