The Mississippi Highway Patrol is still investigating a May 10 traffic accident that claimed the life of Zachary T. Childress, 27, of the Whynot area.
The collision happened about 6 p.m. on Centerhill-Martin Road. It involved a Lauderdale County patrol car driven by Deputy Paul Early and a motorcycle driven by Childress.
Childress was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department called in the MHP's accident reconstruction team to investigate.
Maj. Ward Calhoun of the sheriff's department said this morning he does not know when the investigation will be completed.
Early's patrol car and Childress' motorcycle collided on a bridge spanning the north end of Okatibbee Lake, commonly known as The Causeway.
