A new manufacturer that will build in G.V. "Sonny" Montgomery Industrial Park is expected to create 15-20 jobs.
The company, D.L. Fox Properties, L.P., makes forestry tools, including large saw blades.
Based in Florence, S.C., the business is owned by Dan Fox, who plans to place a 14,000 square-foot building between Brown Bottling Co. and K and S Custom Warehousing in the industrial park.
In its role as the Lauderdale County Economic Development District, the Lauderdale County Board of Supervisors approved the sale of a 6.8-acre tract of land in the industrial park this week for $61,470.
Wade Jones, president of the East Mississippi Business Development Corp., said the average salary of employees at the new plant is expected to be about $11 an hour.
