Delena Davidson of Meridian and Gaston Barrett of Philadelphia were married Saturday, May 17, 2003, at 2 p.m. in a private family ceremony in the home of the bridegroom. The Rev. Jerry Beam officiated.
Parents of the couple are Vera Davidson of Meridian and the late Odell Davidson, and Sarah Barrett of Philadelphia and the late Clemet Barrett.
Grandparents of the bride are the late Catherine Humby and the late John Alfred Edward Humby of London, England, the late Ella Davidson of Suqualena and the late Ben Davidson of Meehan.
Grandparents of the bridegroom are the late Ludie S. Weatherly and the late J.M. Weatherly of Kosciusko, and the late Theodocia M. Barrett and the late Oscar H. Barrett of Philadelphia.
Music for the ceremony was provided by the Steve Watson Trio.
The bride was given in marriage by her brother, Randall Warren.
She wore a white satin designer gown featuring a band collar and re-embroidered bodice that swept into a tulle cathedral-length train. Her fingertip-length satin edging veil with anchored by a tiara of crystals and beads. She carried a bouquet of yellow and white roses and calla lilies.
Attendants were Jennifer Ezell and Jan Bushman, both of Meridian, and Bobbie Hitt of Philadelphia.
A reception was held in the home of the bridegroom following the ceremony.
After a honeymoon in Kamalame Cay, a private island in the Bahamas, the couple resides in Philadelphia.
