Republican Haley Barbour won the endorsement of the National Federation of Independent Business last week. This is a significant endorsement because this group represents Mississippi's small businesses, the real backbone of our economy.
Jack Faris, NFIB's national president, called Barbour a "true advocate of Main Street enterprise." Ron Aldridge, the group's state director, said Barbour is a problem solver, just like the typical small business owner.''
Small business owners who feel their livelihoods are threatened by Mississippi's litigious climate may want to take note of the NFIB endorsement and, on Aug. 5, take action with their votes as Barbour faces trial lawyer Mitch Tyner in the GOP primary.
