DRUG BUST Two Gaffney, S.C., men remained in the Lauderdale County jail today after being arrested Monday with 15 pounds of marijuana. Humberto Ramirez, 31, and Jose Alvara, 22, are charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. Meridian Police officer Chris Reed discovered the drugs during a routine traffic stop on Interstate 20/59 in Meridian. The Mississippi Drug Task Force took control of the drugs and the investigation. Ramirez and Alvara are being held on a $60,000 bond. The case is still under investigation. Photo by Anna Wright / The Meridian Star
