Russellville BOE approves spring training

The Russellville Board of Education approved a trip request to the baseball team to attend spring training during the regular board meeting.
The Russellville High School baseball team requested to attend spring training at the Disney Wide World of Sports in Orlando, Fla. March 15-21, 2008. The trip will help the team get ready for next year's season.
"They attended the training last year, and we had a really good season so I think it will be beneficial for them to attend again this year," Superintendent Dr. Wayne Ray told the board.
In other business, the board voted to approve the finacial report July 2007. Invoices for July totaled $110,579.92, and included expenditures for the following items: 2007-08 AASB membership dues, scissor lift rental for all schools, batteries for the AEDs, air conditioning units for the speech/language pathologist classroom, and electrical repairs at RHS, Russellville Middle School and the football practice field.
Payroll for all programs was $1,328,808.08.
The board also voted to approve the following personnel changes:
The next regular meeting will be Sept. 20, 2007 at 3:30 at the Central Office.
