Russellville High School principal Rex Mayfield describes Anne-Marie Hall as a well-rounded student, and it's hard to argue with him.
The Russellville senior is a co-captain on the varsity volleyball team, a member of the All-State Show Choir and is the reigning Miss Franklin County Agriculture.
"She has an oustanding personality, and she's very well-rounded and people get along with her," said Mayfield. "She won't say anything about it, but she's a good singer. We were honoring seniors for homecoming, so we had her sing the national anthem. She sang it again last week because so many parents aksed that she do it again, and she'll sing it at the game (tonight)."
Hall, a 4.0 student, is also the senior class treasurer and president of the National Honor Society, and is involved with over a dozen other school clubs, including the RHS Chorus, Environthon Team, Mu Alpha Theta, Student Council, SADD, FBLA, Student Booster Cub and the POWER Mentoring Team.
Hall said she has considered a career in education, which isn't suprising since both of her parents are former educators – her mother now works for the city school system's central office and was an assistant principal, while her father was an agriculture teacher.
"I take a lot of interest in enviromental stuff, and I like seeing how science works," said Hall, who is considering the University of North Alabama, Auburn University and Northwest-Shoals Community College. "I'm undecided about what to major in at college. I've thought about majoring in education or speech pathology. I love children, so I've thought about elementary education, and I'm also interested in studying music."
Hall is a music junkie – she enjoys listening, singing and dancing along to music, which she said helps her relax.
"I love all kinds of music," said Hall, who has attended concerts for Christian bands Casting Crowns and Mercy Me and country singer Kenny Chesney. "For the chorus, I had to sing songs in Russian and German, but I have Kenny Chesney in the CD player in my car – I love that man – and I also like Michael Buble."
In her spare time, Hall said she enjoys spending time with friends, hunting and being outside.
"I really like going to the Frosty Inn, because we still go out there after football games," Hall said. "I love to fish and hunt, and I love sitting in a tree stand – I'm definitely a daddy's girl, and I can skin my own deer and fish.
"I live way out in the country, so sometimes I like to go outside and just lay down in a lawn chair and look at the stars."
Hall is the daughter of Terry and Susan Hall, and she has an older brother, Jonathan, a senior at Auburn.
