Veterans park a boost for county

By Staff
The official dedication of the Franklin County Veteran's Park finally took place Friday, more than five years after organizers began working there.
The Franklin County Archives and Research Center, led by its director Chris Ozbirn, has given the county something that we should all cherish.
This park is something that many larger metropolitan areas do not have.
It is a daily reminder of those from this county who have bravely served our country. Everything we have is due to the men and women who sacrificed to give us our freedom to vote, worship and live how we choose.
Thank you Chris Ozbirn, the Nichols' family, former and current county and city leaders and all who have volunteered at the park and archives center.
Franklin County is better today because of you and the work you put in.
