Good to see county residents giving

By Staff
There is no shortage of generous people in Franklin County.
Each time there seems to be a need in our community, people rally to help others.
A good example is this weekend's bike ride to raise money for and awareness to cystic fibrosis, a deadly disease that affects thousands of children each year. It is a cause worth supporting.
The recent success of the Relay for Life, which raised $125,000 for the American Cancer Society, is another notable example.
And as the school year winds to a close it is amazing to see local organizations working to raise money for college scholarships.
We would be hard pressed to find a local group who has not stepped up with a scholarship for a local student.
It is this generosity that makes Franklin County a special place. Despite uncertain and difficult economic times, we urge you all to help a fellow county resident when you have the opportunity.
