Robert S. Bankston, 90, Tuscumbia, passed away Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012.

The visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, at Akins Funeral Home, Russellville, prior to the 2 p.m. funeral service in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Ted Vafeas officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Chris Bankston, Randy Sweet, Paul Keblaitis, Danny Burleson, Dan Rose. Christian Bankston will be an honorary pallbearer.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Cooper Bankston; parents, George W. and Mae Bankston; sister, Georgia Scribner.

He is survived by two sons, Uthell Bankston and wife, Alice, Timothy Bankston and wife, Judith; five grandchildren, Randy Sweet and wife, Pam, Christopher Bankston and wife, Kim, Ginger Burleson and wife, Danny, Christian Bankston, Paige Mancuso and husband, Angelo; five great grandchildren, Nicholas Sweet, Brad Sweet, Ella Grace Rose, Alexandra Sims, Sydnee Bankston; a host of nieces and nephews.

He was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church, Muscle Shoals, and was a WWII Army veteran.
