R.C. Burgett, 88, died Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013, at Southern Magnolia in Golden.

He was born in Alabama to Harrison and Audrey Williams Burgett. He was an operator for Diamond Shamrock Oil Co. and a member of First Baptist Church in Red Bay.

Funeral services were Monday, Sept. 9, 2013, at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, with Bro. Larry Hill officiating. Burial was in Red Bay City Cemetery.

Survivors are his son Ronald Burgett and wife, Judy, of Vina; his daughter, Linda Weaver and husband, Danny, of Lakeland, Tenn.; three grandchildren, Shawn Burgett, Tricia Trousdale and Lisa Greene; five great grandchildren; two sisters, Faye Cayson and Nella Jean Hadley; and one brother, Wayne Burgett.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Pansy Burgett; his parents; two brothers, W.C. Burgett and Bobby Burgett; and one sister, Eloise Childers.
