Phil Campbell and Red Bay win junior high county tournaments

Baseball

 

The Phil Campbell Bobcats defeated the Red Bay Tigers to claim the 2015 junior high baseball county championship.

The Bobcats scored four runs in the bottom of the first to take a 4-1 lead over the Tigers.  It would be enough for the win as Phil Campbell went on to win the game 12-3.

Red Bay scored two runs in the top of the third to close the gap to 4-3 but the Bobcats scored three runs in the bottom of the third and five runs in the bottom of the fifth to capture the win.

Phil Campbell’s Nate Owens had two hits, scored two runs and struck out two Tiger batters.  Brodie Nix, the games winning pitcher, struck out three and recorded two hits.

Blake McAfee and Garrett Crowden  scored two runs each.

Max Bullen scored two runs for the Tigers.

 

Softball

JV-County-Tournament-Red-Bay

 

The Red Bay Tigers had three big innings to capture the 2015 junior high softball county championship defeating Tharptown 22-11.

Red Bay scored six runs in the second, six runs in the third and seven runs in the fourth innings to pull away from the Wildcats.

Olivia Hill and Kylie Pedan scored four runs each for Red Bay.  Victoria Rodriquez and Madison Wichen scored three runs each.

Jaelyn Johnson, Aly Vandiver and Catie Dawson scored two runs each for Tharptown.
