Charles Bentley Elliott, 68, Russellville, Alabama passed away Saturday, June 20, 2015.

He lived most all of his life in Franklin County and was a member of Tharptown Baptist Church.

The family received friends Sunday, June 21, 2015 at Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville.  Funeral service was Monday in the funeral home chapel. Gatus Cheatham and Neil Rogers officiated.  Burial was in Tharptown Cemetery.

Survivors include wife, Brenda Masterson Elliott, Russellville; son, Matt Cooper and wife, Greta, Russellville; grandchildren, Madeline, Bryson and Jackson Cooper; sisters, Sue Hodges, Missouri, Pat Camp and husband, Tom, Dawsonville, Ga., Carolyn Murdock and husband, Bill, Carrolton, Ga., brother, Mickey Elliott and wife, Sally, Tupelo, Miss.; brother-in-law, Edmond Potter, Scottsboro; several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Andrews, Jamie Kiel, Pete Smith, Lynn Lane, Jody Kiel, Terry Stockton.

The honorary bearers will be Charlie Ford and the members of his Sunday School Class at Tharptown Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Bentley Elliott and Stella Goff Elliott Gilbert and sister Shirley Jo Potter.

Even though he was a man of few words, Charlie was loved by everyone he came in contact with. In his later years he spent most of his time being a fulltime “Pop” to his grandchildren, Madeline, Bryson and Jackson.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Tharptown Baptist Church Building Fund.
