Oma Dell Pace

Oma Dell Pace, 88, of Valley Grande, went home to be with the Lord May 14. Oma Dell was born in Spruce Pine to Bessie Thompson Conrad and Conard Pounders Aug. 5, 1927. She resided in Valley Grande. Oma Dell was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She will be remembered for being a servant to others and being a wonderful cook.

She was preceded in death by her father, Conard Pounders; mother, Bessie Thompson Conrad; husbands, Samuel Tony Pounders and Bill Pace; son, Wayne Pounders; son-in-law, Larry Nunez; and grandson, John Mark Pounders.

Oma Dell is survived by two children, Linda Nunez of Yulee, Fla., and Virginia Roberts and husband Roger, who she loved dearly, Valley Grande; stepson, Greg Pace of Trinity; six grandchildren, Donna Childress, Sherry Rister, Angie Yeargan, Teresa Hogan, Chris Nunez and Steve Pounders; 13 great-grandchildren, Nichole, Leslie, Matthew, Taylor, Erika, Chandler, Braxton, who was her little boy, Brad, Kaysie, Korey, Brooklyn, Alaynaa and Cydnie; and four great-great-grandchildren.

There will be a combined funeral and graveside service, officiated by Pastor Anthony Rister, May 16 at 1 p.m. at Pounders Cemetery.
