Billy Wayne Mitchell

Billy Wayne Mitchell, 59, passed away Sept. 1 at North Mississippi Medical Center, Tupelo, Miss. He was born in Nashville, Tenn., and worked at Cooper Tire, Tupelo, Miss. He attended Liberty Church of Christ, Dennis, Miss.

Services will be Sept. 4 at 2 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, with Bro. Michael Bates officiating. Burial will be in Dempsey Cemetery, Russellville.

Survivors are his wife, Barbara Mitchell, Vina; son, Eddie Mitchell and wife Missy, Tuscumbia; mother, Catherine Mitchell, Belmont, Miss.; brother, Roy Mitchell and wife Linda, Hodges; sister, Kathy Bates and husband Michael, Batesville, Miss.; nieces and nephews, Dusty Mitchell and wife Aronia, Kelly Bates, Kasen Bates and Kadyn Bates; great-nieces and nephew, Abbie, MaKala and Slate; mother-in-law, Lucille Carter; and four sisters-in-law, Deborah White and Donald, Martha Long and husband Craig, Kathie Chandler and husband William and Reba Carter.

He was preceded in death by his father, Mariel Wayne Mitchell, and his father-in-law, Edward Carter.

Pallbearers will be Donald White, Mark White, Michael White, William Chandler, Ronnie Chandler and Nathaniel Long.

Visitation will be Sept. 3, 6-9 p.m., at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay.
