Robert “Bob” Emmitt Mansell

Robert “Bob” Emmitt Mansell, 80, of Killen, passed away Sept. 20 at ECM Hospital surrounded by his family.

Mr. Mansell was born in Russellville and resided in Killen for the last 31 years. He worked at U.S. Reduction in Russellville, and while there, he served as the president of the union. He also owned “Bob’s Refrigeration” in Russellville. He retired from General Motors after 22 years. After retiring, he loved spending time on his farm with his tractors and taking care of his cattle. He also loved working in his greenhouse that he built and spending time with his family.

Mr. Mansell is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary Evelyn Mansell; sister Tommie Lou Minnick, Illinois; daughters Kathy Aaron, Muscle Shoals, Regina Moss, Killen, and Tracy Cleveland and husband Tim of Madison; grandchildren Jennifer Young and husband Tony, Jessica Pannell and husband Richard, Hilary Aaron, Chad Jeffreys, Bridget Jeffreys, Brandon Jeffreys, Mary Aaron, Brad Jeffreys, Hannah Cleveland, Timothy Cleveland and wife Tiffany and Tabetha Pinkard and husband Josh; great-grandchildren Brayden, Sophie, Evelyn Grace, Jasper, Caylin, Tripp, Tinley and Darby; and his special dog that he thought the world of, Toby. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Mansell was preceded in death by his parents, John and Audie Mansell, a brother, Gene Mansell, and sisters Mable West, Geraldine Vernon and Shirley Mansell.

Pallbearers will be Chad Jeffreys, Brandon Jeffreys, Brad Jeffreys, Steve Minnick, Bernie Minnick, Shawn Minnick, Kevin Mansell and Matt Mansell. Honorary pallbearers include Jay Smith, Ike Johnson and Leon Madden.

Visitation will be Sept. 22 from 5-8 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home in Russellville. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sept. 23 at 2 p.m. in the chapel at the funeral home. Officiating will be Darren Woodruff. Burial will follow at Knights of Pythias Cemetery in Russellville.
