Margrew Byrd

Margrew Byrd of Florence passed away at her residence Jan. 31 at the age of 72 after a lengthy illness.

A native of Franklin County, Mrs. Byrd moved to Florence about 12 years ago from Morton, Ill. She was a retired secretary, having worked at WABCO and OSF. She was also a member of Underwood Baptist Church of Florence.

Visitation will be Feb. 4 at Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville, from 11 a.m., until 1 p.m. Services will follow in the chapel at 1 p.m. with Doug Farris officiating. Burial will follow at Bethesaida Cemetery, Russellville.

Pallbearers will be Ricky S. Hansard, Russell H. Hansard, Nicholas R. Darnell, Landon Smith, James Hill and Joe Puckett. Honorary pallbearers include Troy Davidson, Pete Peeden, Harvel Scales, Mike Belue, Glen Bevis, Gary Simpson, Duane Traglia and Larry Walker.

Mrs. Byrd is survived by her husband of 53 years, Billy H. Byrd, and her daughter, Brenda Sheree Hansard and husband Ricky. Two grandchildren also survive her: Kayla Renee Darnell and husband Nicholas and Russell Hue Hansard. In addition, survivors include great-grandchildren Elaina Joyce Hansard, Rory Elizabeth Darnell and Elizabeth Margrew Hansard. Nieces, nephews and friends also survive her.

Preceding Mrs. Byrd in death were her parents, Drewey R. and Lucy Arlene Myrick.
The family of Mrs. Byrd expresses heartfelt gratitude to all of the staff of Hospice of the Shoals for the excellent care of their loved one during the past month.

Those wishing to make donations in Mrs. Byrd’s memory may do so to the Bethesaida Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, Russellville.
