United Way recruits for nonprofit projects

United Way of Northwest Alabama is seeking volunteer projects from local nonprofit and human service agencies for the 2018 Day of Caring, which is scheduled for Sept. 20.

The Day of Caring is an opportunity for nonprofit agencies to take advantage of volunteer resources to benefit their organizations and have projects completed that they might not otherwise have the ability to fulfill, according to United Way.

All nonprofit organizations in Franklin County, as well as Colbert and Lauderdale counties, are invited to submit project requests. Agencies do not have to be current United Way partners.

The deadline for project request submission is Aug. 1.

Projects in the past have included landscaping, gardening, painting, cleaning and assisting with activities or events.
