Junior High County Tournament concludes Saturday

The junior high division of the Franklin County Tournament will continue Jan. 12 at Vina High School. Here are the results from the first day of action and matchups this weekend:

B-Junior Girls

  • Tharptown 27, Belgreen 25: Morgan Vandiver and Kyndall Morgan led the Wildcats with eight points each.

B-Junior Boys

  • Phil Campbell 35, Tharptown 17: Malachi Gholston led the Bobcats with 14 points.
  • Phil Campbell 38, East Franklin 22: Jacob Barwell led the Bobcats with 10 points.
  • Red Bay 61, Vina 33: Brady Bolton led the Tigers with 14 points going 4-for-4 from the 3-point line.
  • Red Bay 47, Belgreen 29: Cody Carnes led Red Bay with 15 points. Ethan McCoy followed with 12 points.

A-Junior Girls           

  • Tharptown 36, East Franklin 20: Jaiden Gaston led the Wildcats with 14 points.
  • Phil Campbell 53, Belgreen 19: Kenner Scott led the Bobcats with 17 points. She was followed by Madison Branch with 13 points and Faith Cook with 11 points.

A-Junior Boys

  • Phil Campbell 53, East Franklin 20: Cam Habada led the Bobcats with 13 points. Sage Raper and Quentin Hyde followed with 12 points each.

11:30 a.m. – A-junior boys, Red Bay vs. Phil Campbell

12:45 p.m. – A-junior boys, Tharptown vs. Belgreen

2 p.m. – B-junior girls, FINALS

3:30 p.m. – B-junior boys, FINALS Red Bay vs. Phil Campbell

5 p.m. – A-junior girls, FINALS Phil Campbell vs. Tharptown

6:30 p.m. – A-junior boys, FINALS
