RPL celebrates St. Patrick’s Day

March 30 the Russellville Public Library is celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with live entertainment, food and local author Eamonn Walsh. The party starts at 6 p.m.

The Wildwood Trio will be providing the live entertainment. Eddie Martin, Tony Lee and Malcom Singleton make up the trio, which will be performing Irish-inspired music. Singer/songwriter Martin, who grew up in Russellville, has traveled to Ireland several times to explore his family’s history and get inspiration for new songs. Martin’s full band, The Wildwood Ruminators, are well known in the Shoals area and have played at many festivals and events.

Lee played with Full Moon Ensemble, an Irish Celtic band consisting of Shoals musicians, many years ago.

“We’re very excited to have them,” director Ashley Cummins said.

Walsh was born in Ireland and is married to Gail Seale Walsh of Russellville. His book, “One Irishman’s Life’s Journey,” is about his life growing up in Dublin and his journey after leaving Ireland.

Cummins said Walsh has prepared a virtual tour of the Irish coastline using his personal photographs. These will be shown on a large screen as he serves as a guide to his picturesque homeland.

Refreshments will be provided.
