Bulldogs shut out Phillips in area win

The Belgreen Bulldogs dominated the Phillips Bears in an 11-0 area win last week. Belgreen dominated from the start, scoring three runs in the first inning, three in the second and five in the fourth.

Sydney Borden and Emma Dempsey combined for the shutout and allowed one hit in the game. Borden struck out six, while Dempsey struck out seven.

Gracie Dempsey had a big day at the plate, going 2-for-2 with a triple and three runs. Emma Dempsey had two RBIs on one hit and scored three times. Bailey Wood had a triple and two RBIs.

Belgreen outhit Phillips eight hits to one.

East Lawrence 3, Belgreen 1

Despite eight hits, the Belgreen Bulldogs could only get one across the plate, losing to the East Lawrence Eagles 3-1 last week.

East Lawrence broke a 1-1 tie in the top of the second inning to score two runs and take the lead. No one would cross the plate the rest of the game.

Camie Terrell had three hits, including a double. Katie Dempsey and Kaycee Wilson had two hits each.
