Red Bay softball picks up two wins

The Red Bay Tigers got some revenge after losing to Tharptown in the finals of the Franklin County softball tournament. Red Bay defeated the Wildcats 11-4 in a regular season contest last week.

Red Bay led 7-0 before Tharptown could get on the board, in the top of the fifth inning. The Tigers never let up, matching the Wildcats run-for-run.

Both team had eight hits, but Tharptown committed four errors in the field.

Layla Bilstein had a four-RBI game. Lila Blackburn had two RBIs and scored two runs. Annaliese Rogers had two hits and scored two runs. Emmie Scott scored three runs, and Sarah Eaton, Bilstein and Emma McCollister all doubled.

Chloe Knoblock led the way in the circle, striking out six and giving up three earned runs.

Olivia Ergle led the way for Tharptown with two hits and two RBIs. Shaylee Weiting scored two runs, and Catie Dawson had two RBIs.

Red Bay 15, Sheffield 3

Red Bay dominated the Sheffield Bulldogs from start to finish, winning easily 15-3.

Several players had good days at the plate. Sarah Eaton had a four-RBI game, while Blackburn had three RBIs. Emma McCollister had two RBIs and scored two runs. Rogers, Taneisha Colburn, Bilstein, Madison Wicker and Georgia Inman all scored two runs.
