RHS partners with NW-SCC

Russellville High School is offering students a new opportunity in partnership with Northwest-Shoals Community College: the Credit Assurance Pathway.

Principal Jason Goodwin first mentioned the new program at the Russellville City Schools Tiger Pride Night earlier in April.

RHS provides advanced placement classes for students and has had a good success rate. CAP will now provide an incentive for students to take those AP classes.

CAP assures students they will receive college credit when they successfully complete an AP course. Students earning a score of three or higher on an AP exam and a C or better in the Dual Enrollment Course receive a free three-hour class credit from NW-SCC.

“They’ve joined with us and recognize the difficulty level of AP classes, and our students at the high school are really going to benefit from that,” said Goodwin.
