RPL takes next step in gradual reopening

For months now Franklin County residents – and citizens around the world – have dealt with interruptions to their daily lives, from restaurants and shopping to community services. Russellville is taking one more step toward normalcy, with the Russellville Public Library moving into “phase two” of its gradual reopening plan

The library entered phase two Monday, and library director Ashley Cummins said RPL patrons can enjoy several benefits of this expanded reopening.

“We will continue to offer curbside pickup of library materials and print documents. However, we will also have computers and copy machines available to the public by appointment,” Cummins said.

In the interest of safety, Cummins said appointments are for one person only. “If you require assistance on the computer, please notify the staff when you call to schedule your appointment,” she added.

All who enter RPL are requested to wear a face covering. The library can provide a covering to any visitor who does not have one.

Cummins said computer and copier appointments will be limited to 45 minutes per day to allow for sanitation between persons. To schedule an appointment, call 256-332-1535.

Cummins said she and the RPL staff “look forward to offering our full range of services in the safest way possible.”
