Egg hunts return for Easter 2021

After being one of the first events to be canceled this past year because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Franklin County Chamber of Commerce’s Easter Egg Hunts are returning for 2021.

The Easter Egg Hunts will be March 27, with three different egg hunts on the schedule for county children to enjoy.

Russellville’s will be at Eastside Ballpark and 10 a.m., Phil Campbell’s will be at the Memorial Park at noon, and Red Bay’s will be at Bay Tree Park at 3 p.m.

“Last year’s egg hunts were canceled because of COVID, so we are really thankful to be able to hold the Easter Egg Hunts this year,” said Franklin County Chamber of Commerce Director Cassie Medley.

The egg hunts are open for all children in fifth grade and young. The Easter bunny will be on site for pictures, and there will be prize baskets and bike giveaways for several lucky winners.

Medley said throughout the years additional prizes have been added, and locations have been changed to accommodate the number of children, but the Easter Egg Hunts have remained a favorite in Franklin County.

All children are encouraged to wear their masks and bring their baskets to the events.
