Red Bay boys get early area advantage
The Red Bay Tigers have taken an early lead in their area, picking a pair of wins against Sulligent and Lamar County this past week.
Red Bay overcame a five-point deficit in the fourth quarter to beat the Sulligent Blue Devils 44-37.
The Tigers led 10-9 at the end of the first quarter and extended their lead to 17-11 at halftime. Sulligent, however, raced past the Tigers in third quarter, outscoring Red Bay 20-9 to take a 31-26 lead.
Red Bay flipped the script on the Blue Devils in the fourth quarter, outscoring Sulligent by 11 points to get the win.
Lawson Glover led Red Bay with 11 points. Landon Glover and Carson Corum scored nine points each. B.P. Blair added seven points, Bryson Hacker three points, Andrew Ray two points and Paden Allison two points.
Corum scored 20 points to help the Tigers handily defeat the Lamar County Bulldogs 59-41 for the second area win.
Red Bay led Lamar County 10-6 at the end of the first quarter and extended the lead to 28-13 at halftime. The Tigers led 42-28 at the end of the third quarter and cruised to victory.
Landon Glover followed Corum, scoring 13 points. Blair added 10 points. Ray scored eight points, Lawson Glover six points and Paden Allison two points.
