Belgreen splits with Red Bay

Will Bonner scored 21 points, including 15 second half points, to lead the Belgreen Bulldogs past the Red Bay Tigers for the third time this season. Belgreen won the game 44-26.

The game was tied 7-7 at the end of the first quarter. Belgreen dominated the second quarter, outscoring Red Bay 12-3 to take a 19-10 halftime lead. The Bulldogs extended their lead to 29-16 at the end of the third quarter and outscored the Tigers 15-10 in the fourth quarter to claim the win.

Collin Bonner and Adrian Reeves scored six points each. Canaan Stough and Austin James scored four points each. Carson Cox added two points, and Cole King chipped in one point.

Andrew Ray, Paden Allison and Holden Inmon scored six points each for Red Bay. Cody Carnes, Carson Corum and Landon Glover added two points each. Kennedy Wilemon and Lawson Glover scored one point each.

In the varsity girls game, Red Bay beat Belgreen 37-32.

The Tigers led the Bulldogs 16-10 at the end of the first quarter. Belgreen closed the gap in the second quarter, cutting the lead to 22-19. The Tiger girls extended their lead to 30-23 at the end of the third quarter and held on for the win.

Kaylie Lindley led Red Bay with 12 points. Sarah Eaton, Jaycee Vinson and Emma McCollister added five points each. Amber Mason scored four points. Madeline Ledbetter and Shelby Nichols finished with three points each.

Dacota Green led Belgreen with 15 points. Carson Hovater added seven points, Noelle Willingham six points and B.B. Scott four points.
