The Phil Campbell Bobcats took full advantage of their spring break, playing six games and winning five of them – including an 8-5 win over Class 7A Enterprise.

The Bobcats took their annual trip to the beach, where they played five of the six games. Phil Campbell beat Bradford 4-2, West Point 5-2, Shoals Christian 19-4 and Enterprise 8-5 before losing to Class 6A Gardendale 5-3.

The Bobcats returned home to easily beat Hatton Saturday morning, 11-1.

In the Bradford game, Hunter Baker had two hits. Mason Swinney had two RBIs. Bryant Anthony scored two runs, and Sage Raper and Cole Pace scored one run each.

Pace also pitched seven innings, allowing seven hits and striking out seven.

In the West Point game, Kyle Pace homered and had three RBIs. Anthony and Baker had two hits each.  Baker also doubled.

Kyle Pace pitched five and two-thirds innings; he allowed four hits and had three strikeouts. Eli Taylor closed out the game.

In the Shoals Christian game, the bats were alive early. Phil Campbell scored 10 runs in the first inning to put the game on ice.

Raper went two-for-two with a double and four RBIs and scored three runs. Swinney doubled, had two RBIs and scored three runs.

Cam Habada went two-for-three with a double and four RBIs and scored a run. Baker went three-for-four with two doubles, three RBIs and two runs.

Cole Pace had a hit and two RBIs and scored a run. Kyle Pace also doubled.

Sage Raper, Taylor, Baker and Noah Raper all pitched in the game.

Phil Campbell beat Enterprise 8-5 despite being outhit 10-5. Swinney went three-for-three with a home run, a double and two RBIs, and he scored three runs.

Baker had two RBIs. Habada and Raper scored two runs each.

Habada also pitched six innings, allowing nine hits and striking out nine.

Against Gardendale, Swinney hit a three-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to give the Bobcats a 3-1 lead. Gardendale battled back with one run in the bottom of the fifth and three in the sixth to win 5-3.

Saturday morning, Phil Campbell showed no hangover from the long road trip, easily beating the Hatton Hornets 11-1.

The Bobcats got doubles from Habada, Raper and Swinney.

Baker pitched the complete game, allowing three hits and one run and striking out four.

The Bobcats improved their record to 15-6.
