Chamber plans egg hunts for April 16

The Easter Bunny will be hopping onto the scene soon, bringing chances to find Easter eggs and win prizes April 16. A standing tradition in Franklin County, hunts will be hosted in Russellville’s Eastside Park at 10 a.m., Phil Campbell’s Memorial Park at noon and Red Bay’s Bay Tree Park at 3 p.m.

Egg hunts are for children 11 years and younger, and children should bring their own baskets.

“Hop along and join us and the Easter Bunny at our Easter egg hunts being held across Franklin County,” said Cassie Medley executive director of the Franklin County Chamber of Commerce, which coordinates the hunts.

“More than 2,500 eggs will be hidden at each location, as well as 50 eggs with monetary prizes,” said Medley. “The rest of the eggs will hold candy or small toys. Giveaways will take place for Easter baskets and bicycles, and the Easter Bunny will be at each hunt.”

Red Bay revenue commissioner Jennifer Garret invited everyone to come out and join in the fun.

“We are anticipating good community turnout and a great day.”
