Red Bay blanks Vina, Phil Campbell downs Madison County in baseball

RED BAY VERSUS VINA

The Red Bay Tigers got an almost flawless pitching performance by Carson McGee to blank the Vina Red Devils 10-0 in recent baseball action.

McGee pitched a two-hit shutout while striking out 13 Vina batters.

Red Bay scored two runs in three straight innings and three in the fifth inning to seal the win.

Harley Strickland led the Tigers at the plate, going two for four with an RBI and two runs scored.

Ty Reynolds had a hit, two RBIs and scored once. Aiden Pruitt had a two-RBI single. Eli Farris scored twice.

PHIL CAMPBELL VERSUS MADISON COUNTY

Eli Taylor pitched a one-hitter in an 11-1 Phil Campbell win over Madison County.

Taylor allowed no earned runs and struck out seven in the win.

The Bobcats committed three errors in the field, with one leading to Madison County’s lone run.

Cam Habada led the Bobcats at the plate with double, a triple, two RBIs and three runs scored.

Kyle Pace went two for two with two RBIs and scored a run. Hunter Baker went two for two with a double, RBI and run scored. Koltin Hester had two hits and two RBIs and scored a run.Cody Quinn had two hits and scored twice.

The Bobcats lost to West Limestone later in the day Saturday and dropped two to Muscle Shoals earlier in the week.
