Alice Lucille Hargett

Alice Lucille Hargett, 89, of Red Bay passed away Sept. 24 at her residence. She was born in Alabama to L.D. and Bertha Gates Hovater. She was owner and operator of Hargett Cafe and was a member of First Baptist Church in Red Bay.

Visitation was Sept. 26 from noon to 3 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home. Services were held Sept. 26 at 3 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in Red Bay with Bro. Gary Lovette, Bro. Gene Franks, Dennis Hargett and Willodean Davis officiating. Pallbearers were Ricky Hargett, Larry Oliver, Greg Lee, Mike Vaughn, Kel Hargett and Jeff Hovater. Burial was in Belgreen Cemetery in Belgreen.

She is survived by her daughter – Tracie Clark (Jeff); grandson – Trey Bolding (Olivia); granddaughter – Britan Crow (David); great-granddaughter – Chloe Crow; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Hargett; her parents; six brothers, Odie Hovater, Thurman Hovater, Willard Hovater, Kelly Hovater, Nelson Hovater and Veron Hovater; and four sisters, Betty Massey, May Franks, Icy McBride and Lyla Hovater.
