Jackie Lee Wingo

Jackie Lee Wingo, 73, of Florence, Miss., passed away Oct. 25 at his home.

The family will hold a graveside service at 10 a.m. Oct. 28 at Dempsey Cemetery in Russellville. in the Five Points Community.

Jackie was born on Sept. 2, 1950, to Jack and Louise Wingo, in Russellville, Ala. He was raised in the Frog Pond community. Mr. Jackie and his late wife, Mrs. Annette, lived in Florence, Miss., since 2005, where they attended Mountain Creek Baptist Church.

Mr. Jackie worked for Northwest Shoals Community College in Alabama until his retirement in 1999. Jackie loved gardening, yard work and his grandson, Harrison. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and he also sang bass in a gospel quartet.

Mr. Jackie is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Annette Wingo; and brother, Joe Wingo. He is survived by his son, Daryl Wingo (Myra) of Brandon, Miss.; grandson, Harrison Wingo also of Brandon; sister, Janet Wingo Pearson (Joe) of Northport, Ala., and several nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and extended family.
