December strolls onto the scene

I’ll be pleasantly surprised if we get any snow this year. This is Alabama, after all, and we rarely have even a few flurries, never mind enough to cover the ground nicely; however, it does still happen on occasion. It’s far too early right now, of course, but it’s a nice thought to entertain the possibility of enough snow to decorate the ground and to enjoy watching as it falls.

Meanwhile, Franklin County is busy with a number of Christmas events, some already passed and others in the works. What are you looking forward to or hoping for this winter? Perhaps you are still clinging to fall, and it’s not technically winter just yet, but it will be here before we know it.

I love seeing the leaves change. Our maple tree never showed off its colors this year in the way it normally does. Our neighbor’s maple tree always seems to “blossom” more intensely and sooner.  I don’t know what accounts for it, but it’s pleasant to see as I drive by.

While we’re on the edge of the two seasons, it might be a good time to reflect on fall and remember the memories made this year. Do you have any new favorites or treasured activities you revisited this year?
